Central Arizona Architecture Foundation
In 2002, the American Institute of Architects Central Arizona Chapter (AIA CAC) formed the Central Arizona Architecture Foundation, a not-for-profit organization to develop and support activities that provide service, education and research to the architectural profession in metro Phoenix.
Funded by an initial contribution of $150,000 from the chapter, the Foundation provides grants to for individuals and organizations residing in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, including but not limited to members of the Phoenix Metro Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (“AIA”), students, design professionals and others interested in architecture and whose interests are consistent with the CAAF’s mission to request financial support for activities, research and projects that provide service, education and public awareness of architecture, design, construction, planning and the design professions to the metropolitan Phoenix area. In 2006, the Foundation expanded their grant program to include fees for the architectural registration exams. The purpose of this award is to recognize the significant contributions of interns at an early stage of their career, and to help encourage them to complete their licensure by helping with the cost of the professional examination. Awards are not based on financial need, as much as they are based on contributions the
intern has made to their profession and/or their community. For more information on the CAAF ARE grant program visit: 2008 ARE Grant Requirements
